The official report says that 13 inches fell on Thursday night at mid-mountain, but there was easily 20+ inches at the top this morning and it continued to fall all day making for the deepest powder day of the season, and for that matter it is the deepest day in the past two years! Snow was heavy, deep and surfy with free refills all day!
Morningside was actually closed for a bit today for avalanche mitigation and there are avalanche warnings for the Flat Tops and Steamboat area. If you are riding in the back country, be safe and know before you go!
It looks like snow will continue tonight and there should be additional fluffy powder on Saturday morning.
Happy Powder Day!
