Straightline Sports is proud to offer our guests the best fly fishing experience possible. We have exclusive access to the best private fly fishing properties in and around Steamboat Springs. As well as several miles of public access. Many of our properties are open during all four seasons, making it possible to fish for world-class trout year round.

 

Whispering Willows Ranch

Yampa River | 10 minutes drive time

This section of the Yampa river is located only ten minutes from our shop downtown. It it a robust year-round fishing spot because of its proximity downstream from Lake Catamount.

 

Kuntz Ranch

Yampa River | 15 minutes drive time

Located in the Pleasant Valley area, south of Steamboat, the river is lined with cottonwoods, willows and alders for nearly a mile. This section of river is fishable year-round.

 

Yampa River Ranch

Yampa River | 15 minutes drive time

West of Steamboat and downstream of the Elk River, this 2 mile section provides easy access to deep holes and long riffles.

 

Ladder Ranch

Little Snake River | 75 minutes drive time

Located on the Colorado and Wyoming boarders, this expansive stretch of water was home to the fur trader Jeremiah Johnson. The beautiful drive and is well worth the full day trip.

 

Knott Ranch

Trout Creek | 35 minutes drive time

This is our own section of Trout Creek, located at the headwaters of the Flat Tops Wilderness Area. Beautiful four mile section of meandering clear water with undercut banks and beaver ponds.

 

Beaver Valley Ranch

East Fork/Williams Fork | 75 minutes drive time

Best described as a mountain stream that flows through a riparian zone with a diverse array of pine trees, cottonwoods, willows and aspens. Four miles of pocket waters and cut bank pools make this narrow river valley a haven for native Colorado River Cutthroat Trout.

 

Graces

Yampa River | 10 minutes drive time

About 3/4 of a mile of river, downstream of Lake Catamount. This property holds opportunities for spectacular streamer and dry fly fishing as well as an opportunity to catch a "fish of a lifetime".

 

Chimney Creek Ranch

Chimney Creek | 45 minutes drive time

This small meandering creek has excellent views of the Flat Tops Wilderness and is fun for anglers of all experience levels.
