Fishing Report

10-28-2011

There is really good fall fishing in the Steamboat area. Starting to cool off outside but water clarity is still really good. Fishing in town is excellent! There is some snow already in the Stagecoach/tailwaters area. A Lightening Bug fly in red would be best for in town right now and a Bubbleback Emerger would be perfect for Stagecoach. The Bluing Olive fly is the best all around fly for this time of year.

Fishing is still going really good! There is lots of variety in dry flies, nymphs and streamers. Water clarity is a little off due to worms and egg patterns. White fish, brookies and browns all spawn in the fall. This is making the fish bite! Now is a great time to get out before snow starts sticking to the ground!
